In the book "Future of Us" its about a girl named Emma and a boy named Josh, they used to be best friends but they haven't spoken to each other in a while. All of a sudden he comes over and asks if Emma wanted an Aol cd. (This book was set in the past.) When she puts the Aol disc in she notices something at the top of the screen she clicks on it and it brings her to a site that we now know as Facebook, but at the time Emma had no idea what she just clicked on. When she went to where it said profile and clicked on it then saw it was a profile for herself... not only was it a profile of herself but a profile of herself in the future..
The rest of the book talks about her and joshes journey on how they keep it a secret and what they do with their new found knowledge about the future. I think the theme of this book is everything happens for a reason. I think this because in the story Emma constantly doesnt like her future so she does stupid things to change it but after she tries to change it she ends up not liking her newly changed future. What the author is trying to say when Emma does these things is don't mess with your own future and let everything happen the way it should.
