Hurricane Song

                Hurricane song by Paul Volponi, a young boy named Miles and his dad pops have to stay in the superdome for a while because of Hurricane Katrina. They face many obstacles in the superdome such as gangs. I think that the event of Hurricane Katrina really changed miles,pops and their relationship.
                I started to notice a change in miles and in chapter 10 when i miles jumped the fence with pops. This showed me how even though pops and miles weren't seeing eye to eye yet, you can tell that they were starting to take interest in each other. In chapter 11 I saw pops taking on a much more "fatherly role." For example when they saw the people in the street he told miles to stay back and not to talk to them. Also i saw their relationship have a change when Pops beat up the guy that was beating up miles with his horn. This shows how pops and their relationship changed because pops gave up something really important to him for miles and miles realized that pops truly did love him more than music.
             The change in miles and pops relationship made me think deeper about humanity because it shows how good things can come out of bad things because non of this stuff would've happened if Hurricane Katrina would've happened.
